College hosts national percussion titles
Saint Stephen’s College proudly hosted the prestigious 2018 Australian Percussion Eisteddfod which brought together the nation’s elite young drumlines, percussion soloists and chamber ensembles.
Director of Performing Arts, Dylan Troyahn, said it was the first time the College had hosted the national event and congratulated all students and staff involved in making it a success.
“This is such an exciting eisteddfod and was a great opportunity for us to showcase our percussion students – Junior Drumline, Senior Drumline and Percussion Ensemble. Our Staff and Alumni Drumlines also joined us during the three-day event, which speaks volumes as it is not often that a College has alumni returning on a regular basis to rehearse and perform. We encourage and value regular contact with our Old Scholars,” said Mr Troyahn.
Performances were held in the Goda Firkins Auditorium, Multi-Purpose Hall, Dance Studio and Performing Arts studios.
