Consolidations Programme

The Consolidations Programme focuses on the care and education of students in Years 4, 5 and 6 at Saint Stephen’s College. The Programme has been established to link closely with both the Foundations Programme (Prep – Year 3) and the Connections Programme (Years 7 - 8) within the College. The Consolidations Programme teaching team work collaboratively, by taking on a shared responsibility for the planning, teaching, and monitoring of the success of all learners. They work closely together to enrich the learning experience for students and to facilitate a supportive, caring and constructive learning environment.

Students in the Consolidations Programme undertake Specialist subjects. Throughout the week students enjoy two forty minute lessons of Music, Physical Education and Japanese with the Specialist teachers in these areas. They are also provided with extra assistance and support with their learning in the areas of Literacy and/or Numeracy if required, or extension in these areas through the College Learning Enrichment Programme. All students from Year 1 – Year 6 attend weekly Assembly and Chapel.

It is the aim of the Consolidations Programme to continue to build upon the knowledge, skills and personal attributes the children have developed throughout their early years of learning. Literacy and Numeracy skills continue to play a predominant role in the curriculum, along with providing students with exposure to a variety of learning styles and real life experiences.

The Consolidations Programme provides students with greater opportunities to become more heavily involved with academic, cultural and sporting activities. These activities are listed in the College Extra Curricula booklet. It is hoped that the experiences gained from these activities will be continued by the students in their future years at the College.

Some highlights of the Consolidations Programme include, Year Level Camps, Consolidations Musical, APS Sport, Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals, the opportunity to be involved in a variety of Clubs and Public Speaking, to name a few.
