Great community service shown by our international students from Japan!
This year eight students from our Japanese sister school, Okayama Gakugeikan, added to the international flavour of the Gold Coast marathon by running on Saturday and volunteering to serve drinks on Sunday.
These students attend our College for a year to learn English and experience our culture. These students decided the marathon weekend was a great way to become involved in both the College and community activities. It was quite noticeable the positive impact on the many Japanese runners who participated in the event when they heard encouragement in their native language! This service included a couple of very early mornings and our international students did this with a smile and a lot of enthusiasm. Well done, guys! We are very proud of you and we know the runners from Australia and Japan were very grateful.« Back to Index
