Titans Visit to Celebrate National Literacy and Numeracy Week
National Literacy and Numeracy Week is an annual event run by the Australian Government to highlight the importance of literacy and numeracy skills for all children.
The week aims to recognise the achievements of students and the work of teachers, parents and members of the community who support young people to develop stronger literacy and numeracy skills. To mark this important week, the students in the Foundations Programme were very lucky to have two Junior Titans players, Sam Gee and Matt Beddow, come to read with them.
The Titans run a programme called “My Hero Reads Too” which highlights the importance of reading by engaging primary school students and sends positive messages aimed at fostering a love of reading for life. All of the children had a wonderful time listening to and discussing the stories that Matt and Sam read. Many thanks to both players for taking time out of their busy training schedule to read with us.« Back to Index
