Final Chapel
We bid farewell to the Class of 2022 at our Final Chapel. Our College Captains made their final ode and reminded their classmates this is farewell and not a goodbye. Saint Stephen’s College will always be your home and our community has supported you, and will continue to support you for many years to come. Farewell Class of 2022 and good luck to our newest Old Scholars.
Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Day
A milestone for our Year 6’s as they transition into the Senior College for 2023. The day started with a welcome from Dr Standage and senior students from across the college who provided top tips of advice for students, before moving into speed dating Year 7 subjects with Heads of Faculty. Junior City Council Breakfast
Our staff and student representatives and College Principal, Ms Kim Cohen recently attended Mayor Tom Tate's Junior City Council 30 year breakfast celebration. This celebration acknowledged the growth in the inaugural City's Junior Council Program, which was founded in 1993. The first Junior Council Program involved 17 student representatives, today the program involves 120 students and 30 local schools in South East Queensland. These opportunities provide our students to build relationships within our community, whilst working with council staff to support young people, including youth hubs, Active and Healthy and NaturallyGC Programs. We are beyond honored to be apart of such an amazing initiative.
Creative Arts Exhibition
Join us for the 2022 Creative Arts Exhibition. The Exhibition will showcase design pieces from Prep to Year 12 Visual Art, Design, and Film TV & New Media. Date: 2 November 2022 Time: 3.15pm – 7pm Where: Saint Stephen’s College Arts and Technology and the iCentre Awards will be presented on the night at 4.45pm.
Conversations @ The College: James Maskey
This week on Conversations @ The College, College Old Scholar and College Captain 2006, James Maskey sits down with us to discuss his journey of self discovery and mental health awareness. The podcast touches on the importance of support systems within our community, and James' experience with his own mental health.
Senior Investiture
Our Year 11 Senior cohort of 2023, took part in our tradition of receiving their leadership badges. These were presented by our junior college students in Year 4, who tasked our leaders to look after them and be a pillar of our college community.
Year 9 Design Excursion
Recently, our Year 9 students visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to learn about different animal habitats. Last semester our students focused on researching specific animal needs and wants for their homes. Students participated in one of the sanctuaries education programs that spoke about the importance of habitat preservation. Students also visited the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital where they watched first hand an injured bat being treated by the amazing staff.
Term 4 Chess Program
Saint Stephen's College Chess Program is running from Tuesday 4 October to 22 November 2022 on Tuesday's from 3.15pm to 4.15pm.
