Saint Stephen’s Day 2021

If there is one day on the College calendar that stands out above everything else, it is Saint Stephen’s Day.

Sedés Honoris

The day started with the traditional Sedés Honoris (Seat of Honour) ceremony where both a junior and senior student are selected.
Congratulations to our junior Sedés Honoris recipient for 2021, Jacey Georgiou, and our senior recipient, Alani Perkins.
Also, congratulations to all our College Captains announced and to our staff who received 10-year and 20-year service awards.
The ceremony culminated with the release of 1000 balloons and it was lovely to again be able to invite special guests on campus to help celebrate the day with us.

Dash for Wings
The scene was set for what turned out to be an absolutely epic battle between all four College Houses with the running of Dash for Wings.
The Quad was at capacity with students from Prep through to Year 12 all cheering for their House team.
Dash for Wings is a tradition at the College and one the students take very, very seriously.
Congratulations to the following competitors.

Tug-of-War
Another tradition on Saint Stephen’s Day is the Tug-of-War competition.
House vs House as students vie to take the crown.
Well done to everyone today who took part. You could hear the crowd cheering from Nerang.
Congratulations to Hughes (Prep to Yr 3) and Bell winning both Junior and Senior competition.

Battle of the Bands

By far one of the most popular elements of Saint Stephen’s Day is Battle of the Bands.
House bands are formed, songs are rehearsed and amplifiers are turned up to 10.
What an incredible way to mark our 25th anniversary. The roar of the crowd was literally deafening as students performed on stage.
The sense of pride, spirit, and belonging that goes with Saint Stephen’s Day gets stronger and stronger each year.
Well done to all performers and in particular to the winners of Battle of the Bands, Haley House.
