Saint Stephen’s College offers many special interest clubs giving students the opportunity to further explore and pursue their unique passions. Apart from delving into a specific subject or pursuit, each of these clubs provides a unique social element where students can interact and develop friendships and share experiences outside of the classroom.
Academic Clubs
Numerous academic clubs operate within the College allowing students to further explore their specific interests in a non-classroom group setting.
Senior Science Club
Open to Senior School students, Science Club is coordinated and run by a dedicated group of committee members. A few lunch times each term, our Science Ambassadors perform some fun scientific experiments to help students further explore the topics they cover in class. Science Club members also participate in Science Week, Science Expo and other extra-curricular activities.
Debating
Debating exposes students to academically and socially challenging issues and allows them to develop logical and persuasive arguments, encouraging them to think about issues from a new perspective. Students in Years 7 to 12 can participate in Debating via the College’s Inter-house Debating Competition as well as the Gold Coast Secondary Schools Debating Association Competition.

Service Clubs
Service to others is a core part of the Saint Stephen’s College identity. Through our various service-based clubs, students can more fully explore what it means to serve others.
Interact
Interact is a global community service club for students in Years 7 to 12. It empowers students to take action and build connections in their community, develop leadership skills and gain a global perspective. The Saint Stephen’s Interact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coomera River and raises funds for local and global charities through service and events such as Homeless Sleepout, Homeless Connect, Mother’s Day stalls, Superhero Day, Gold Coast Marine Expo, Upper Coomera ANZAC Parade and Relay for Life.
Earlyact
Earlyact is one of the first Rotary community service clubs for students in Years 4 to 6 and was established by Jane Howe in 2013. The club gives younger students the opportunity to contribute and be involved in the local and global community. The Saint Stephen’s Earlyact Club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Coomera River and raises funds for local and global charities through service and events such as Homeless Sleepout, Purple Pinkie Day, Superhero Day, Mother’s Day stall, Father’s Day stall and the Upper Coomera ANZAC Parade.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award
Open to students in Years 9 to 12, The Duke of Edinburgh International Award Australia is an internationally recognised voluntary program for young people that introduces them to a range of new activities and skills and encourages initiative, perseverance, leadership and service. Saint Stephen’s College is proud to offer this outstanding program to students.

Chess
Students from Prep to Year 12 can participate in school-based Chess. These students also represent Saint Stephen’s College at the Associated Private Schools (APS) Inter-school Chess Competitions throughout the year.
Recycling and Ecomarines Club
Students in Years 4 to 6 can join the Recycling and Ecomarines Club. This club promotes recycling and sustainability initiatives within the school, organises environmentally focused events and students participate in conservation programs.
