Junior Hub Development

In mid 2023, Saint Stephen’s College proudly announced the appointment of Burling Brown Architects as the lead designers for the eagerly anticipated Junior Hub Building. This decision signified the continuation of a longstanding partnership with Burling Brown Architects, renowned for their dedication to crafting innovative and captivating learning environments.

The forthcoming building promises to be a beacon of creativity, boasting adaptable learning spaces tailored to music, technology, and STEAM education. Students from Prep to Year Six will have the opportunity to engage in immersive learning experiences and interactive spaces which are designed to spark curiosity and fuel imagination. Complementing the educational facilities, the Junior College will feature its own welcome reception with collaborative break out space plus plans to integrate the uniform and bookshop.  Outside, the College envisages a dynamic green playground, evoking the quintessential Gold Coast lifestyle with lush green landscapes and play spaces.

Excitement surrounded the project’s commencement in late August, with the official “Soil Turning & Smoking Ceremony” held on Wednesday 30 August. Rooted in tradition, the smoking ceremony a custom of the Yugembah people, signifies purification and protection symbolising a harmonious transition for the College and its community.

Construction of the new Junior Hub is well underway, ready for completion late 2024.
