Dean of Teaching & Learning

The Dean of Teaching & Learning reports to the Principal about curriculum innovations and requirements particularly relating to the senior year levels at the College. The Director of Studies is also responsible for the suite of subject offerings available for each senior year level. The Director of Studies is available to meet with parents to discuss academic issues that cannot be handled by the Heads of Year, Heads of Faculty or the Heads of Programs for senior year level students. The office is located in the Student Welfare Centre.

The Dean of Junior College is responsible for the academic progress and welfare of students in Prep to Year 6, and is assisted in this role by the Heads of Program. The Dean of Junior College advises the Principal about staff deployment and is available to meet with parents about issues not dealt with at the Heads of Program level. The office for the Dean of Junior College is located in the Prep to Year 6 Administration Office.

Sam Holmes is a member of the College Executive and is responsible for all aspects of international education and the development of global perspectives at Saint Stephen's College. Sam is passionate about international education and personally experienced life as an international student in Japan many years ago. Sam speaks Japanese and has travelled extensively throughout most of the world. Sam has first-hand knowledge of many different cultures and communities. Sam ensures that all international students receive exceptional pastoral care and support during their time at Saint Stephen's College.

The Dean of Students is the member of the College Executive and Senior Leadership Team responsible for the day-to-day management of students in the Senior College. The Dean of Students has the strategic imperative to ensure the wellbeing of all students at Saint Stephen’s College, and works actively with the Dean of Junior College and Dean of Teaching and Learning to ensure students are developed as whole-persons. The Dean of Students oversees all pastoral care, APS sport, and the Positive Education Programme in the Senior College, and drives the work of the Heads of Year, Director of Sport, College Psychologist, College Chaplain, Student Support Officers and House Tutors. The Dean of Students is available to meet with families about pastoral and wellbeing matters that cannot be resolved by the Director of Sport, Heads of Year, or classroom teachers.

Director of Educational Programs

The Director of Educational Programs is responsible for attracting and monitoring scholarships across the College and recommends existing students for scholarships as well as those applying from outside the College. The AHM - Personal Learning Plans counsels students and their parents and makes recommendations for academic conditioning or other remediation as required. The Assistant to the Principal - Personal Learning Plans is available to meet with parents to discuss academic issues that have not been dealt with by Heads of Year, Heads of Faculty or the Heads of Program for Preparatory to Year 12 students. The office is located in the Student Welfare Centre.
