International Department Term 3 Round Up
It's been an exciting start to Term Three in our International Department at Saint Stephen's College. We have welcomed a little over 100 students from overseas on short term programmes! This taste of Saint Stephen's is a great way for our staff and students to meet new friends and develop awareness of other cultures (plus show off our amazing College to our visitors too!).
Thank you to the many students who have been great buddies and shown our visitors what it is like to be a Saint Stephen's student! The feedback has been tremendous. Good luck to all of the student buddies for the upcoming theme park tickets draw on assembly!
Thank you also to the College families who have opened their homes to our visiting students and provided them with a taste of Aussie life! I hope this has been a positive and rewarding experience for your family.
I was thrilled to receive this email from Ms Kirkwood the other day and with her permission, I would like to share this with you.
Hi Sam, I just wanted to say that the 4 students (3 boys and 1 girl) that we have in 7A, are just delightful and so eager to participate. Today we were doing similes. They actively played the game and had hands up answering questions and giving suggestions. The same students are with us in Humanities, and as things would have it, we are doing Ancient China. So again, they are actively participating and have even learnt some things they did not know. They are such a nice contribution. We had one student explain to the class about a picture I had on my flipchart – an ancient Earthquake metre and he explained to the class exactly how it works. Just really LOVELY. They are just wonderful students. Thought you should know
It's lovely to receive such positive feedback and assurance that our short stay programmes are meeting the reasons why we offer these experiences in the College; to facilitate opportunities that allow the College community to share their experiences, cultures and learn from each other.
